A BUSY LIFE

It is time to mow the lawn again. I dress for yard work. Good safe shoes. Safety glasses are a must. I have a push lawn mower. I could get a riding mower but I really like my push lawn mower. As soon as I get started my wife says the car is a mess. That means when I finish cutting the grass I get to wash the car. If I have time I may wash the truck. I get the lawn mower from the shed and grab the gas can. It's empty so I have to go get gas. I put the gas can in the back of the pick up truck and head for the gas station. My wife yells for me to stop by the grocery store and get a gallon of milk. I finally get back home with the gas and milk. Then I start the mower and head for the front yard. About an hour later the front yard is looking better. I rake a few spots and then head for the back yard. The back yard takes me about an hour and a half. I finally finish mowing and put away the lawn mower. Now it's time to wash the car. I gather my buckets and rags. I get out the hose and soap. It's time to get to work. About an hour later the car looks pretty good. Another hour and the truck  is clean. Things are looking pretty good. Then I notice the truck tire is almost flat. I have enough air in it to get to the nearby Gas Station so I get going before it is goes completely flat. Later on I find the tire has a nail and the tire is ruined. It can't be repaired. I have to buy another tire. I finally get home and I am tired. My wife wants to go out for dinner. Does this sound like a typical Saturday? We all have busy lives.
When things get busy I remind myself of what God said to Martha in the book of Luke. Martha was busy preparing a meal without Mary's assistance. Martha wanted help. Jesus told Martha that she had become distracted with too much service. Mary had chosen to show her love for Jesus. Martha was so busy that she forgot the most important thing - fellowship with her Lord. Are you too busy to think about your priorities? Remember to spend time with your Lord and Saviour. He will make your load lighter. He will be there for you.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”

A great post - loved the "backstory!"

It's important to take a good look at our lives - are we so busy (too busy) doing the urgent things, that we forget the important things?

Sometimes it's all about sitting down at His feet and just resting and worshiping Him.

GOD BLESS!

Hi JT,
Yes!! I completely agree with you, JT. It is always healthy to keep busy, for we certainly do not need an idle mind.
I enjoy reading your post, JT.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom with the world!!
The Lord be with you always, JT, and those you love.
In God's Garden,
Starry.

Hi JT -

You expressed, "...fellowship with her Lord."

That is sweet music to my "ears."

Thank you for the melody.
