I KNOW YOUR FATHER

When you think of families in football you think of the Manning Family. Archie Manning was born May 19, 1949. He became a great football player in the NFL. He was the quarterback for Old Miss for three years. He started his NFL career with the New Orlean Saints. He was with the Saints for 10 seasons. He then played for the Houston Oilers and The Minnesota Vikings. There is no doubt that he was a great Football player. Peyton Manning is the son of Archie Manning. He is referred to as a chip off the old block. He was born March 24, 1976. In college he played for The Tennessee Volunteers. In the NFL he plays for Indianapolis Colts. He holds NFL Records for consecutive seasons with 4000 or more passing yards in a career. His career passing record is 94.9%. There is no doubt that he is also a great football player. Eli Manning was born January 3, 1981. He played college football at The University of Mississippi. During his college career he set or tied 45 single game, season, and career records. In the NFL he plays for The New York Giants. He won the Most valuable player award in Super Bowl XLII on February 3, 2008 after he led the Giants to a victory over the previously undefeated New England Patriots. There is no doubt he is also a great football player. Archie Manning is the father of Peyton and Eli Manning. Peyton and Eli inherted great genes. Their DNA led them to be great sports figures.
Do you know about your DNA? You inherited your earthly DNA from your parents. Usually tall parents have tall children and short parents have short children. Athletic parents usually have athletic children. There are exceptions of course. I know several parents who are around five feet l0 inches tall who have children who are well over 6 feet tall. You can never be sure about your children. There is an area where you can be sure about your DNA. Your Heavenly Father created you. Before you were a gleam in your parents eye God knew all about you. God breathed life into you. You have his genes. You have his wisdom, strengths, talents and abilities. God has a purpose for you. You are not a mishap. Your life is planned. You have the ability to do what God has planned for you. Do not be discouraged when things don't go as you have planned. Follow the path He planned for you.

As always John has written a thoughtful, well reasoned and well grounded post. He comments about the Manning family echo exactly the feeling I have for this fine family. Well done!
