THE KENTUCKY DERBY

I enjoyed a basketball game on TV yesterday which featured Kentucky and South Carolina. Before the game started there was a short report on the University of Kentucky. It was very interesting. There was brief mention of the Kentucky Derby. That is a good description of the Kentucky Derby. It is brief. It is known as The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports. The Kentucky Derby is a race for Throughbred Horses held annually in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May. There is a two week long Kentucky Derby Festival. I have not attended a Kentucky Derby so I really do not know a lot about it. I know that it is the first leg of the United States Tripple Crown of Throughbred Racing. The next races to complete the Tripple Crown is The Preakness Stakes and The Belmont Stakes. If one horse wins all the three that horse is considered the Tripple Crown Champion. There are many challenges facing anyone involved in the quest to The Tripple Crown Championship. First you must have a horse that can win the three races. Then there is the training involved. Endless days of work. Anything can go wrong. Just one mis-step and the horse might not be able to race. Our daily life also has many challenges. From the time we get up in the morning until we lay our head on the pillow at night we are faced with the temptions of sin. When we give in to sin we are separated from God. We endure the consequences when we surrender to sin. There is a race between you and Satan. It is a race you must win. It is up to you to stay one step ahead. There will be temptations. Stay on top of your game. If something dares to come between you and the goal, push it aside. You have to keep your eye on the prize. When we lay our all at the foot of the cross the winner of the race is guaranteed. Sin and death suffer defeat. We need not be afraid of the final result. Give your all to God and remember you are a winner. The grace of God will overcome all Satan can muster.

JT,
Your last post about The Kentucky Derby Race is superb and very interesting. I am happy to follow your awesome blog. You know, I love horses and all animals. I am an animal' advocate. "Secretariat" was the Throughbred horse that won The Tripple Crown in the 20th Century. I agree with you when you say about our daily strife between good and evil. We must pray on daily basis and stay away from sin. Yes!! My poetry holds a message to the world. Thank you so much for reading my poem, JT!! Welcome aboard at anytime!! I am so happy to have you aboard.
God keeps blessing you, JT!!
All the Best,
Starry.
