VETERAN'S DAY

Veteran's Day is a good time to think about our country and the freedom we enjoy.  I am a Veteran.  I served 4 years in the United States Air Force.  I joined in January 1962 and served until December 10, 1965.  Four years is a long time when you are young.  It goes by slow.  When you have your 50th birthday times goes by in a hurry.  The Military is a special place.  The Air Force has a system.  It operates on a basis of discipline and authority.  It seems to me someone else is always in charge.  An Airman must obey his Superior Officer.  That is what holds the Military together.  Without discipline and authority the Military would crumble.  Our Nation would be over run by other nations.  Christian Service is based on the same idea.  Christ is the Authority.  As Christians we must follow and obey.  We must have confidence in our Leader.  We know that no matter what we face we will be safe under His command.  We must beware of the enemy.  We know the enemy is trying to defeat us.  We know that no battle is fought without pain and scars.  We fight with God on our side.  We know that we will be rewarded by our Heavenly Father.  We know that the Kingdom of God will win out over evil.  We must put our trust in Jesus and continue the fight.  Pray to God for strength to continue the fight.

Thank you for your service. My dad was also in the USAF... 1959-1963. We had a great veteran's day service today at church. We have a lot of vets there.

I was reminded of one of my favorite hymns - "Onward Christian Soldiers!" I want to fight with the Lord's help, and defeat enemies with His power.

We don't fight alone, we will be rewarded - God will win.

I join you in praying for strength to continue the battle - to endure.

Thanks for your service, John - my family appreciates it very much.

GOD BLESS!

Belated thanks for honoring our veterans. This country can be thankful for their service, and I personally believe that we do not give all of them enough honor.
