GOD IS FOREVER

Recently there was a flood in Tennessee.  It rained 5 to 7 inches per hour.  Riverbanks overflowed.  The streets were covered with water.  There were pictures on TV.  Houses were floating in the water.  People were being rescued.  Water was everywhere.  Homes were destroyed.  Reporters began interviewing people who lost their home and property.  I heard a lady say " My home is gone.  I lost everything "   Later on I watched fires burning in California.  Helicopters dropped water from the air.  Flames raged burning everything.  Cars burned.  Houses burned.  It looked really bad on TV.  Finally the fires were out and people were allowed back into their communities.  Reporters began interviewing people as they walked through ashes that were once their homes.  I heard the same thing " I lost everything "  This should be a lesson to all of us.  No matter how precious things are to you and I, the things we own are temporary.  We have no guarantee of anything but eternity.  Our homes and property can be gone in a flash.  People we love can die in an instant.  God's love is everlasting.  He will be with us forever.  Thank God for His love.

Our God is so big and awesome isn't he?!! I love him so much and can't even begin to imagine what life would be like without him.

Gorges said it well! It is painful seeing those interviews on TV. It is a good awake up call - concentrate on what is eternal. Good post.
