BE A WITNESS

I recently came across a verse that made me stop and check my priorities. Romans 10:14 says: How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? If someone has not heard of Jesus Christ, how can they believe? It is up to you and I to make sure they hear about Jesus. I feel good talking to others who believe but I don't always know how to talk with those who do not believe. It is hard to imagine someone who has never heard of Jesus. You can listen to 10 different preachers on TV every day. You can listen to 10 different Christian Radio Stations every day. You can read religious tracts every day. You can even read a Gideon Bible in almost every hotel. It is usually in a drawer with the local phone book. You can do all those things if you wish. What if someone does not have a desire to learn about Jesus? What about those people who don't care about Christ? It is good to sit around with our Christian friends and talk about the Bible. We talk about Church projects to help the needy. We discuss all these things with our friends at Church. How can we reach those people who are not in the least bit interested in Jesus? The answer is: We have to bring up the subject. We can't sit and wait for someone else to mention Jesus. Be Bold. Speak up. If you are shopping in the grocery store say hello to someone. Ask them how they are feeling. Talk about the weather. Then ask them if they know Jesus Christ as their Saviour. They may tell you to take a hike. Go jump in a lake. Get lost. Then again it may be different. They may pay attention to you. They may give you an opportunity to invite them to Church. Just remember the Bible Verse. How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? It is up to you. Do you tell others about Jesus?

I stand with you on stepping out to witness. You know Jesus told Peter that the gates of hell would not stand up against the church. That doesn't mean the church just sits and waits for an attack. That means the church is barging through the gates of hell and conquoring satan's territory. That means we speak up, we take the initiative, we speak first. Great post brother. God bless.
