STAY FOCUSED

I have a friend who is a Highway Patrolman. He has been a Patrolman for about 12 years. He has been in law enforcement for most of his adult life. He was an MP (Military Policeman) in the army for 5 years. He has been known to tell about these experiences for hours. Some of the stories he tells will make you laugh until tears flow. After the military he was a city policeman in his home town. He did that for a while and then decided to join the Highway Patrol. After a few years on the road the DOT decided to have all truck drivers get a special license called a CDL License. My friend was selected to give tests for this license. One of the most difficult things for truck drivers is steering an 18 wheel Semi through Barrels and Cones. He has tried every suggested thing in the drivers manual to help drivers through this maze of cones. Everything he tried left cones flying through the air. Finally a driver came for the test and passed with ease. He didn’t touch a cone. At the end of the test the first thing he did was ask the driver the secret. The driver told him that he kept his focus on the end of the line of cones. He never looked to the right or left. He looked straight ahead. He did not lose his focus. We have to do the same thing. There is a gate we must navigate through in our Christian life. We can not go to the right or left. We have to stay focused. We have to keep our eyes on Jesus. When we keep our eyes on Jesus we will pass through the gate without worry or fear. Are your eyes focused on Jesus?

I am focusing on Jesus and taking one step at a time. I still hit a cone now and then though.

I love this post! One reason is I can relate. :) I use to drive an 18 wheeler and that is the key focus ahead into the distance.

You related this so well to how we should focus to Jesus.

Focusing on Jesus,

Sort of like plowing, I guess. In fact, the Bible mentions plowing and looking back.

Beautiful post! Thanks so much. If we focus on money it disappears, only He is stable our light. God bless! I needed this today.
