DARKNESS AND LIGHT

It was August. It was hot. It was humid. It had been a long day. The children were fussy. Dad was grumpy. Mom had to deal with it all. The TV had been talking about storms all day. It was late in the evening. The wind was picking up. Over in the west storm clouds were forming. It was getting dark early. Mom called for all the kids to come inside. Dad was folding the lawn chairs. Finally everyone was safe inside the house. The wind began to howl. The dog hid under the bed. The cat went to his safe place in the bath tub. He hid under the shower curtain. The family gathered around the kitchen table. Mom was prepared with candles and matches placed in the center of the table. The windows were closed. The curtains were closed. She was prepared. Then the power went off. No power, no lights. It was dark in the house. The children began to whimper and the dog howled. Then it happened. Mom struck a match and lit a candle. All at once it was light. The darkness was gone. It was light. Everyone could see. The light overcame the darkness. Ephesians Chapter 5 talks about darkness and light. It says "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light" - Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness. Light makes everything visable. We know that light overcomes darkness. When you light a match darkness is overcome by light. Sin hides in darkness and it is exposed by light. The Bible says we are light in the lord. Be careful how you live. Don't hide in darkness. Live as children of light.

Many are on the wide road that leads to destruction simply because they will not come to the light. They love their sins more than God... sad :-(
