NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP

It is bedtime. Time to rest. Time to sleep. Do you have trouble sleeping? Do you dread bedtime? When you turn out the lights and shut your eyes do you have trouble sleeping? Do you toss and turn thinking about bills you must pay? What about the house payment? What about the power bill? The grocery store is taking all my money. What about the problem child? Teenagers are a problem. Is my teenager like all other teenagers all over America? Could he be using drugs. Look at his clothes. Where are all the clothes I bought with my hard earned money. Look at that long hair. What about my job? Things are looking slow in my line of work. I could be laid off any day. Then what would we do? Would we lose our home? What about the kids? Who will look after them? What about saving for their education? We are hardly able to keep the bills paid. We can't save any money. What if I got sick? How can you sleep with all these things running through your mind? There must be a restful peace in your mind. How can your receive that peace? You can rest in peace through our Lord. Psams 4:8 says "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety." You can trust in the Lord our God. You can depend on Him. He will give you peace.
