Most of us have times when we don't feel our usual self. We're a little blue. We feel a little off our game. Then company comes or we see a funny skit on TV and our mood is upbeat again. That's not a real deep depression. A depression is when we don't bounce back from a blue morning over our cup of coffee. It's when you go through the whole day in a depressed mood. It's when a day turns to a week with the same " woe is me " attitude. In the Bible Saul often had these moods. He had times when he was under a deep dreary spell. He would call for David to play the harp for him. Once he even threw his spear at David. Depression is a terrible thing. There are several treatments. One is to pray. God is there for you. Another thing is to attend church. Your brothers and sisters in Christ are there for you.
